Healey is no stranger to the disease,having gone under the knife no less than four times for cancer - first inhis eyes as a child, in his left leg twice in the past 18 months, and nowin his lungs. His doctors, however, report a successful operation,catching the disease early as a result of diligent and regular testing.Healey will be back on his feet hosting his radio show Monday nights at91. l Jazz FM in Toronto again in February, and is planning on gettingback on stage at his brand new live music club, Jeff Healey'sRoadhouse, at 56 Blue Jays Way, in the heart of downtown'sentertainment area. 'Tm stretching the definition of the wordindestructible," quipped Jeff from his hospital bed three days after theoperation.Blue Man Group: After months of discussions that carried on evenduring a boycott, demonstrations and picketing, the TMA completed anagreement with the Blue Man Group before the show closed on January7, 2007. We are not the only group that managed to achieve this goal.Local 822 of the International Association of Theatrical Stage Employees(IA TSE) also inked a deal. This momentous event was historic. It was.the first time i9 North America that Blue Man Group agreed to haveperformers collectively represented by an artists' association. The TMAnot only represented the musicians but also the on-stage performers i.e.the Blue Men themselves. The stage performers asked the musicians ifwe would look after their needs. They came to us through the band.We were thrilled to be able to accommodate them. One interestinghighlight to the gig was that regular players did not have to pay theirsubs. In fact, they continued to receive their weekly pay even whensubbing out. Even though the show closed in Toronto, not one of ourmembers was left without a job.
