Royal College of Music, she has an impressive track record, including a performance by invitation at the Internatioal Musicians Seminar and recitals for the Queen and Prince Consort of Denmark as well as recitals in Moscow, Petersburg and in Tchaikowsky's house in Klin. Toronto pianist and teacher, Michelle Garon, was so impressed by her playing at the Great Romantics Festival last October that she invited her to give a recital in Toronto while she is in Canada performing at this year's Great Romantics Festival. Ms. ~panswick's recital will be October 2 at an unusual venue, Temple Baptist Church, which is just north of Danforth Avenue one block west of the Don lands subway station. Centre. And on September 28 Anton Kuerti, who needs no introduction to Toronto concert-goers, will be performing an all Beethoven program at the Weston Recital Hall-a benefit for Mooredale Concerts. A performer who does need some introduction here, though not to those who attended last year's Great Romantics Festival in Hamilton, is English pianist, Melanie Spanswick. A scholarship winner at the THE KINO OF INSTRUMENTS That wonderful institution, the noon organ recital series resumes in September at Yorkminster Park and St. Paul's churches and at St. James' Cathedral. If noon-hour concerts are not in the cards for you there will be an organ recital on Sunday, September 26 at 3:00 p.m. at Rosedale Presbyterian Church, given by Douglas Bodle, the organist at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church. FRYER Cellist, Simon Fryer, referred to in this month's cover story, will perform Xenakis' Kottos and other works from his soon to be released CD, " Music of a Life so Far" at noon on September 30 at Walter Hall, Edward Johnson Building, U. of T. Simon Fryer. BAROQUE MUSIC Duo L'Intemporel open the Toronto Early Music Centre's Sunday afternoon series at the Royal Ontario Museum on September 12, with Mylene Guay on baroque flute and David Sandall at the harpsichord. Tafelmusik opens its 99-2000 season on September 23 with soloists contralto, Nathalie Stutzmann, oboist, John Abberger and Charlotte Nediger Concert Notes continues on .
