IN THE JAZZ LISTINGS by Sophia Perlman With the weather that's hit us, as of time of press, it's tempting to never leave the house, but why not bundle up and venture right out of the city? And for those who think that Sonya is too far, but North York mightjust be manageable. the Toronto All Star Big Band is presenting an afternoon concert with legendary trumpeter Clark Terry Sunday, Feb 19, after which you will just have time to whip downtown for the other Clarke (Terry) who is performing with Mays (Bill), Perry (PJ), Basso (Guido) and Swainson (Neil) at the Glenn Gould Studio in a Classics and Jazz concert which features original jazz compositions as well as pieces by Mendelssohn, Debussy, Bach and others. All these and many more, are dotted throughout the concert listings, pages 35-49. (Or use our handy Jazz Concert Quick Picks guide at www.thewholenote.com.
