TCHAIKOVSKY SYMPH

TCHAIKOVSKY SYMPH ,ONlll:5 Tchaikovsky complete Symphonies Philharmonia Orchestra and Philadelphia Orchestra under Riccardo Muti CDs at super budget pricing licenced from EMI recordings of the late 70's and early 780's which were very well received. Includes all 7 symphonies and five other orchestral pieces like the Suite from Swan Lake and the Symphonic Fantasy Francesca da Rimini. Jacobus de Kerle Huelgas Ensemble directed by Paul Van Nevel One of the most renowned ensembles of medieval and Renaissance music who continually surprise with original programming and discoveries of new repertoire. Marc Andre Hamelin, piano There is a rare poetry and spontaniety in these performances, particularly that of Carnaval which Marc-Andre recorded as an afterthought in just a few takes when he finished a booked recording session early. Marc-Andre's previous Schumann disc received excellent reviews-this one is even better! John Rutter Gloria The Sacred music of John Rutter T he most popular collection of John Rutter's Anthems and shorter pieces with John Rutter conducting his own choir. This classic Rutter album is now available at mid-price with new bonus tracks included. Liszt Hungarian Rhapsodies (COMPLETE) 2 CDs Artur Pizarro, piano Anew recording by pianist Artur Pizarro. This Portuguese musician was winner of the Leeds International Piano Competition in 1990. He is always in for a challenge. The complete issues of Liszt's 19 Hungarian Rhapsodies are a bit of a rarity, especially the later ones written at the end of Liszt's live which are hardly ever recorded. The numbers 16 to 19 seem to be less popular with pianists. Too difficult? Hear them now at super budget pricing!
