TORONTO CHAMBER SOCIETY Music Director: David Fallis Contact person: Linda Deshman Phone: 41 6-694-2354 Fax: 416-921-4358 The Toronto Chamber Society was conceived thirty years ago as Toronto's first and only choir dedicated to the exploration of early choral music, the music of Bach, Handel, Purcell, Schutz, Palestrina and others. The music director for the past fifteen years has been David Fallis, one of Canada's foremost interpreters of early music, and early music continues to be the backbone of the choir's repertoire. The season begins in December with a very exciting collaboration with the modern dance company, Dancei:nakers, in which the dancers and choristers explore the sensuous biblical love poetry found in The Song of Songs. Come spring, the choir will be combining with Aradia Baroque Ensemble to present The Pleasures of Purcell, an evening of celebratory odes, sacred verse anthems and instrumental interludes. Come join us and let the music take you over! For more information, please call 416- 694-2354. TORONTO MENDELSSOHN .
