Hampton Avenue has received the CARA award for "Best Jazz Song" for Ellington's In A Mellow ~one (on their CD Everybody Sing; see WholeNote's Webstore). We are one of few Canadian groups to earn a CARA award (issued by CASA: Contemporary A Cappella Society of America) since its inception in 1991. Conductor Gary Heard celebrates his 10th anniversary with the North York Singers this year. In addition to his duties with this choir, Mr. Heard is also Artistic Director of the Serenata Choir and Director of Music atthe Church of the Master in Toronto.
